Our Hotel History, Heartland Hotel Glacier Country
Built by local identity Mary Kerr (nee Sullivan) in 1964 from locally milled timbers, the hotel faces State Highway 6 in the village centre.
The property originally known as the Vacation Hotel was operated by the Vacation Group until it was purchased by Earl Hagaman and his business partner Ralph Brown in 1982. Earl and Ralph renamed the property Golden Glacier Motor Inn under the Innkeepers brand.
The property was renamed Glacier Country Hotel in 1986. Heartland Hotel branding was undertaken in 2009 to which the property continues to operate under today.
The property consists of 51 guest accommodation rooms, all with private facilities. A house bar and restaurant within the property provide good quality meals and service over the peak summer months.
