As tourism reduces over the winter months, Heartland Hotel Glacier Country goes into ‘hibernation mode.’ Lower guest numbers reduces the need for two hotels in Fox Glacier township so our guests are ensured a warm welcome – right across the road – at the historic Heartland Hotel Fox Glacier. Heartland Hotel Glacier Country is closed from 1 May and reopens 1 October 2012.

The internationally recognised Westland World Heritage Park encompasses 2.6 million hectares of spectacular wilderness, including the Fox and Franz Josef Glaciers. The fully-licensed Sir William Fox Restaurant & Bar, complete with a welcoming open fire, is open for breakfast from 6.30am until 9.30 am and a la carte evening dining from 6pm until 9pm.
